Jansen Smith

After graduating from the University of North Texas in 2007 with a BBA in Real Estate, I began a teaching career, serving as a middle school theology teacher and soccer coach. In 2013 I was approached by a highly regarded mentor who persuaded me to join him in advising clients in the insurance industry. I made the switch and haven’t looked back. For the next 4.5 years I was privileged to work at one of the largest independent insurance brokers in Texas. During that time I realized what I valued most was the freedom to grow close relationships with business owners and families, protecting their assets and interests as if they were my own. Patterson and Associates was exactly what I was looking for. I was already aware of their outstanding reputation and leadership within the industry, but after several meetings and interviews, I realized it was more than reputation, it is who they are. In 2018, I was honored to join Patterson and Associates Insurance Agency.

From the beginning of my insurance career, I committed myself to learning the business and have worked hard to achieve numerous industry designations and licenses to best serve my clients. I now hold the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation, the Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation, and am a licensed Risk Manager. I have General Line’s licenses to sell Property, Casualty, and Life and Health insurance. In 2014 I was selected by Texas Mutual to attend the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) Commercial Lines Producer School, and I enjoyed leading the Dallas chapter of Young Risk Professionals (YRP) as President in both 2016 and 2017.

In 2010, I became engaged to my now beautiful wife, Amie, while we were serving as volunteers on a mission trip in the Brazilian Amazon. We have been blessed with 3 wonderful daughters, Jubilee and identical twins, Blaise and Lucy. I am passionately involved in the Community, serving in many different capacities with my local church and area Non-Profit Organizations. I am a Dallas native and active Jesuit Alumni. In my free time, I cherish spending as much time as possible with my family, playing sports, hunting, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors.

As an independent agent, I am pleased to offer my clients a variety of products and companies to fit their unique insurance needs. My goal is to provide my clients with the absolute best experience when purchasing their insurance and serve alongside them as their dependable risk advisor for many years to come.
